National Agri-Kalikasan Program
The DA has formulated the program document for the Organic-based Agricultural Development, “Agri-kalikasan" Program in response to the establishment of economic roadmap to address the impacts of oil crisis on food security giving particular attention to shield the small farmers from the uncontrolled spiraling prices of oil-based fertilizers.

National Organic Agriculture Program
The general objective of the program is to promote organic agriculture as an effective and sustainable approach to food security, resource management, income generations and poverty alleviation in the rural areas.

Evaluation and Adoption of Improved Farming Practices on Soil and Water Resources, Bohol Island, the Philippines
In the process of improving the agricultural productivity of the island's environment while protecting the sensitive land and water resources, the Department of Agriculture through the Bureau of Soils and Water Management (DA-BSWM) is implementing a new research project entitled “Evaluation and adoption of improved farming practices on soil and water resources, Bohol Island, the Philippines, SMCN/2004/078".

GOAL 1: Development of at least 2 million hectares of new land for agribusiness in order to contribute 2 million out of the 10 million jobs targeted as a legacy by 2010.
Agriculture is the backbone of rural economy. It is in the rural areas where most of the Filipinos live, mostly, on subsistence living condition. Agriculture also provides most of the raw resources on which the economy depends on, providing as much as 20 percent of the gross domestic product and employing one-third of the labor force.

Community-based Watershed Management
One of the critical environmental concerns in the Philippines today is upland degradation brought about by the loss of vegetation cover and aggravated by the increasing upland population.
