NATIONAL SOIL AND WATER RESOURCES RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT/EXTENSION AGENDA 2023-2028

The Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2023-2028 Chapter 5 (Modernize Agriculture and Agribusiness) recognized the whole-of-society approach which emphasizes the following strategies: enhancing the efficiency of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries (AFF) production through the different sectors participation; expanding access to markets and AFF-based enterprises; and improving the resilience of AFF value chains. The aforementioned strategies under the PDP Chapter 5 will be complemented with the fourth strategy that serves as its foundation – strengthening the agricultural institutions that will enable the modernization of the Philippines’ agriculture and agribusiness. Overall, these strategies intend to transform  production sectors that could generate more quality jobs and competitive products, thereby increasing the income of primary producers such as farmers and fisherfolks.
