Representatives from the Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Soils and Water Management (DA-BSWM) participated in the UNDP Partners’ Planning and Acceleration Workshop held on March 4-5, 2026 at Luxent Hotel, Quezon City. The activity convened National Implementation Modality (NIM) implementing partners from the Department of Agriculture, Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to strengthen coordination and improve project implementation processes.
The two-day workshop served as a venue for partners to review programme performance, identify operational bottlenecks, and develop practical strategies to enhance the implementation of ongoing initiatives, including the GEF-7 Landscape Project.
Key sessions focused on programme performance insights, peer learning exchanges on procurement planning, contract management, and compliance practices, and discussions on governance and accountability mechanisms under the NIM framework. Participants also conducted implementation chain mapping, examining key stages such as planning, fund authorization, procurement, recruitment, implementation, reporting, and liquidation to identify constraints and formulate practical solutions.
Through collaborative group discussions and presentations, partners identified priority risks, outlined acceleration strategies, and proposed operational improvements to strengthen project implementation for 2026.
The activity supports the effective implementation of the GEF-7 Landscape Project “Securing Long-Term Sustainability of Multi-Functional Landscapes in Critical River Basins of the Philippines.” The workshop further reinforces inter-agency collaboration and strengthens systems that support sustainable land management, biodiversity conservation, and climate-resilient agricultural landscapes across the country. via Engr.
