The Agricultural Land Management and Evaluation Division (ALMED) of the DA Bureau of Soils and Water Management (BSWM) conducted a four-day workshop on Mapping High Value Crops on November 19-22, 2024, at Ramada Hotel, Manila.

A total of 18 participants attended the Workshop which aimed at refining strategies for land management and crop mapping.

The first two days of the Activity focused on reviewing the Objectives and Rationale of the activity. Each Team presented its progress and shared insights on challenges encountered during project implementations. The discussions provided a collaborative platform for identifying solutions and refining action plans.

On the third day, OIC ALMED Ms. Jovette T. Almeda provided guidance and conducted mentoring sessions for the ALMED Staff, further aligning the Team’s efforts, especially in working towards finalizing the protocol for Land Suitability Evaluation – an essential component for optimizing land use and ensuring sustainable agricultural practices.

The Workshop is an important step toward strengthening the technical capabilities of ALMED staff and enhancing the overall implementation of the Project, which aims to improve land management strategies across the country. Former ALMED Chief Mr. Bernardo B. Pascua also participated in the Workshop to share his technical expertise on Specific Land Use/ Land Vegetation.
