Soil Conservation Management Division

The Soil Conservation Management Division shall provide leadership in the conservation and management of soils as vital agricultural resources for sustainable agricultural production and rehabilitation of degraded uplands and hilly lands. It shall be responsible in the formulation of technical guidelines and standard procedures and in the development of appropriate technologies for soil conservation guided farming system, conservation agriculture, and other relevant best practices to maintain long-term soil productivity. The Division shall also monitor and assess soil erosion and impacts of soil conservation practices in the rehabilitation of degraded land resources.

Functions

Undertake field study and project development on soil conservation farming systems, farm planning, and conservation farm management
Develop farm-level conservation agriculture technologies appropriate to a specific ecosystem and strategies to enhance their implementation
Assess soil erosion processes and monitor impacts of soil conservation technologies on soil productivity and environmental improvement
Undertake field study and project development for the rehabilitation of degraded lands and watersheds of soil and water conservation facilities such rainwater harvesting structures
