The Department of Agriculture β Bureau of Soils and Water Management (DA-BSWM) through the Compost Production Implementation Team (CPIT) conducted the second batch of the Capacity Enhancement for the Operation and Maintenance of Composting Facility for Biodegradable Wastes (CFBW) for F.Y. 2022 Beneficiaries in Region IV-A last October 23-25, 2023. This Training took place in Lucena City, Quezon Province, specifically at Ouans Worth Farm in Kanlurang Mayao.
The participants in this training included members from various Farmers’ Associations and Municipal Local Government Units (MLGUs) of Quezon Province.
This Hands-on Training covered several important aspects related to composting and CFBW operations. Some of the key topics included Composting Techniques, Proper Maintenance of Machinery, Shredding of Biodegradable Wastes, and the Utilization of Organic Materials. After receiving instruction through hands-on demonstrations, the participants engaged in practical exercises involving the operation of a Biomass Shredder and the CFBW.
This Capacity Enhancement for the Operation and Maintenance of Composting Facility for Biodegradable Wastes aim to provide the beneficiaries with practical experience and a comprehensive understanding of compost production methods, enabling them to effectively manage the CFBW and promote sustainable agricultural practices in the region.
