The DA-Bureau of Soils and Water Management (DA-BSWM) through the Water Resources Management Division (WRMD), in partnership with DA-ATI, is now conducting National Training of Trainers (TOT) on Basic Leadership Skills and Technical Skills Training for Small Water Irrigation System Association (SWISA) Officers and Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) in ATI-RTC VI, Aklan State University Compound, Banga, Aklan from September 30 to October 4, 2024. The activity is participated by 30 SWISA Officers and AEws from Regions VI and VII.

The training aims to capacitate the AEWs and SWISA Officers to become trainers and facilitators of extension services who will educate farmer members within their respective municipalities/ provinces. It will also focus on-topic discussion, various workshops, open forum/ group sharing of experience, microteaching, and a site visit to one of the successful irrigation systems, San Antonio SWIP, and an active association, San Julian Pedro Antonio Farmers Association, in Tapaz, Capiz.

The activity started with an opening message from Engr. Diosdado M. Manalus, OIC of the Water Resources Management Division. He expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the participants for their time and encouraged them to become partners of BSWM to strengthen the farmer-beneficiaries of the Small-Scale Irrigation Project.
The Resource Persons for the five-day activity are Mr. Julio T. Turaja, Jr., Engr. Karen S. Sagana, Ms. Kuinne Ann L. Escovidal and Engr. Corazon Ditarro from WRMD, Mr. Tomas Moragas, and Mr. Josue P. Grecia trained TOT participants from the Province of Iloilo.





This is the last batch among the three (3) batches of TOT Nationwide for FY 2024.
