The project is a grant from the Global Environment Facility (GEF) which will be implemented by the DA-BSWM with the support from UNDP. It is a five-year project and to be implemented in  the Cagayan De Oro River Basin (CDORB).

It has three (3) components:

  • National Land Degradation Neutrality and  Biodiversity Friendly Agricultural Practices policy created and  implementation capacity strengthened
  • Demonstration of sustainable land management and biodiversity friendly agriculture practices.
  • Gender, awareness raising, knowledge management and monitoring and evaluation.

To create an enabling environment for the realization of the National Land Degradation Neutrality (LDN) target and to mainstream biodiversity-friendly agricultural practices (BDFAP) in the Cagayan de Oro River Basin (CDORB) through national policy framework implementation and capacity strengthening.

Impact

adoption and integration of SLM and BFDAP in wider landscapes to prevent land degradation, to protect biodiversity, and mitigate the impacts of climate change

Beneficiaries

Various interest parties/stakeholders from individual/group (farmer, landowners, private, IP community), Local Government Unit, other government agencies, private sectors in  Cagayan De Oro River Basin
