The use of organic amendments, such as farm manure and composts, has long been recognized in agriculture with positive results on plant growth and yield and soil fertility. The need to study the efficiency of vermicompost and vermi tea as organic amendment in vegetable cropping system and its effect on crop quality is relevant in supporting the targets of the Organic Agriculture Act of the Philippines.
The research projects aims to
- Document changes in some physico-chemical and biological properties of the soil
- Determine interaction effect of different level of vermicompost on the yield response of crops
- Determine some nutritional quality organically grown vegetable crops
