March 31 to April 4, 2025 – Two Teams from the DA-Bureau of Soils and Water Management (BSWM) conducted an inspection and acceptance of newly procured Small Scale Composting Facilities (SSCF) and Composting Facility for Biodegradable Waste (CFBW) in the CARAGA Region. The goal is to ensure that these facilities complied and met the required technical specifications and are ready for use by the farmer beneficiaries.
A total of 32 SSCF units and 1 CFBW unit were inspected across the provinces of Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Sur and Surigao del Norte. These facilities will help manage biodegradable waste, support sustainable waste management practices, and enable the production of compost for agricultural use.
The BSWM Inspection Team were Engr. Wilfredo Gultiano, Mr. Aaron Quimson, Mr. Ariel Almeda, Mr. Roy Becero, Mr. Jeferson Laluon, Mr. Sherwin Alba, Engr. Alberto Salaum, Mr. Evan Roy Landrito and Mr. Mario Acosta. The Team thoroughly evaluated the quality and functionality of the facilities as intended for the purpose and use.
