The Bureau of Soils and Water Management (BSWM), through its Compost Production Implementation Team (CPIT), has spearheaded an Orientation on the Department of Agriculture’s Farmers and Fisherfolk Enterprise Development Program, commonly known as the Sagip Saka Program.

The Sagip Saka Program aims to empower farmers and fisherfolk by transforming them into entrepreneurs, thereby enhancing their productivity and overall quality of life. Through this initiative, BSWM seeks to strengthen the market linkages of beneficiaries under the Composting Facility for Biodegradable Wastes (CFBW) and Small-Scale Composting Facility (SSCF) programs, ensuring that they gain better access to opportunities for sustainable agribusiness.

The event is graced by DA Assistant Secretary Atty. Joycel Robles-Panlilio, DA Assistant Secretary for High Value Crops, Sagip Saka and Intellectual Property DA Deputy Spokesperson.

The BSWM headed by Director Gina Parde-Nilo, Ph.D. continues to develop strategies and efforts to further enhance compost production.
