The Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Soils and Water Management (DA-BSWM), in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture – Agricultural Training Institute (DA-ATI), is conducting a National Training of Trainers (TOT) on Basic Leadership Skills and Technical Skills for Small Water Irrigation System Association (SWISA) Officers and Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) – Batch 2. The training is taking place at the ATI-Regional Training Center (RTC) CAR in La Trinidad, Benguet, from March 23 to March 28, 2025. A total of 24 participants, including members of SWISAs and AEWs from Regions CAR, I to V, are attending the event. Director Charlie C. Sagudan of ATI RTC CAR welcomed the participants, wishing them an enjoyable and fruitful stay. DA-BSWM Water Resources Management Division (WRMD) Chief Engr. Diosdado M. Manalus also delivered a message of support, expressing gratitude for the local efforts in strengthening SWISAs and managing Small-Scale Irrigation Projects (SSIP) in Luzon.

The objective of this training is to equip AEWs from Local Government Units and SWISA officers with the skills and knowledge needed to become effective trainers and partners of BSWM in the institutional development of SWISAs in their respective municipalities and provinces.
