Regardless of the weather condition, DA-BSWM Director Gina Parde-Nilo proceeded with the Field Visit to explore a low–emission rice cultivation model in collaboration with the local community and businesses in Binh Thanh Commune, Kieng Xuong District and rice seed processing plant – ThaiBinh Seed Group Joint Stock Company on 11 September 2024 in Vietnam.

Based on the conducted interviews with farmers and cooperatives during the field visit in Binh Thanh Commune in Kien Xuong District, the area is well known for low – emission rice cultivation model which is a result of the teamwork and collaboration between local farmers and businesses. Binh Thanh Cooperative has established the Cho Goc rice brand with a comprehensive protocol. On the other hand, the rice seed processing plant established by ThaiBinh Seed Group Joint Stock Company is one of the leading entities in Vietnam specializing in research, production, processing, and trading of crop seeds. The company’s rice seed processing plant is among the most advanced facilities in the country, equipped with cutting – edge technology from Europe and Japan, with an annual processing capacity of 30,000 – 40,000 tons of seeds. With a quality management system certified to ISO 9001:2008, ISO/IEC 17025:2005, and Total Quality Management (TQM) standards. ThaiBinh Seed proudly serves as a reliable partner to numerous domestic and international enterprises and cooperatives.

With the learnings and experiences gained, the field visit was nonetheless rewarding and productive. And looking ahead, future collaborations and partnership is imminent.
