The DA-BSWM-National Soil and Water Resources Research and Development Center for Hillyland Pedo-Ecological Zone (NSWRRDC HILLPEZ) culminated its Sustainable Hillyland Farming Technologies and Practices for Soil and Water Conservation and Management (SHiFT for SWaC) in Agriculture 2024 with Organic Farming knowledge during its Batch 3 Capability-Building Activity last 02 October 2024 at the NSWRRDC HILLPEZ, Cuyambay, Tanay, Rizal.

The activity was attended by 27 vegetable farmers from various farmer-cooperatives of Tanay, Rizal. These lectures on “Organic Farming and its Benefits on Soil Health and Fertility” and “Vermicomposting Technology sa Pamamaraan ng NSWRRDC HILLPEZ” had Agriculturist II Aubrey Ann B. Ayaton-Carneo, and Supervising Science Research Specialist Leolito D. Siase as Resource Persons, respectively.

SHiFT for SWaC Agriculture is the Center’s Program for capacitating the hillyland farmers, farming enthusiasts, students, youth, and other hillyland community members in farming technologies, practices, and approaches that help in the conservation and management of soil and water resources for agricultural use.
