In support of the Organic Agriculture Program, the Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Soils and Water Management (DA-BSWM) Contingents, led by Director Gina P. Nilo and Assistant Director Denise A. Solano, took part in the National Launching of the Organic Agriculture Month Celebration themed “Kabuhayang OA, Kinabukasang OK!” The Launching was held today, 10 November 2023, at the Covered Court, Quezon Memorial Circle, Quezon City.

The Celebration commenced with the Ribbon Cutting and Exhibit Tour joined by the attendees of the event. This was followed by the Welcome Message from the Representative of the Office of the City Mayor Honorable Ma. Josefina G. Belmonte, Mr. Emmanuel Velasco. After which, Messages of Support were delivered by DA Undersecretary Zamzamin L. Ampatuan, CESO I, representing Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel, Jr.; and via recorded video – Honorable Senator Cynthia A. Villar.

Furthermore, National Organic Agriculture Program Director Bernadette F. San Juan, CESO II presented the Organic Agriculture Livelihood Project (OALP) and Youth Internship Program for 2023. Next to this was a Testimonial from an Organic Practitioner Honorable Rommel C. Arnado, President of the Asian Local Governments for Organic Agriculture (ALGOA) and Mayor of Kausaagan, Lanao del Norte.

The Celebration was officially concluded through a Closing Message from Agricultural Training Institute Director Remelyn R. Recoter, MNSA, CESO III, and the conduct of a Ceremonial Toast.

This year’s celebration aims to strengthen the country’s organic agriculture industry.
