The DA-Bureau of Soils and Water Management (DA-BSWM), the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD), and the Griffith University of Australia collaborated on the Testing of Comprehensive Response Assessment Framework (CFRA) in the Philippines for State of Land and Water (SOLAW-Live) last August 16, 2022, at the DA-BSWM Office of the Director, Conference Room, Diliman, Quezon City.

This presentation-collaboration of the Griffith University on CFRA for the SOLAW-Live project aims to refine a standardized methodology for response assessment for the sustainable management of land, water, and soils in the Philippines.

Furthermore, the CFRA for SOLAW-Live Project will help identify and prioritize responses to best address land, water, and soil degradation, achieve development targets, and cost-effectively mitigate and adapt to the climate change.

In view of the collaboration, DA-BSWM OIC-Director Dr. Junel B. Soriano, Assistant Director for Operations and Research Dr. Gina P. Nilo, and Technical Division Chiefs provided a comprehensive insight into the Griffith University’s project that will incorporate the DA-BSWM services to contribute to the betterment of farmers and fisherfolks of the country.

The CFRA Project Team is headed by Mr. Anik Bhaduri, Mr. Sayed Iftekhar, Mr. Alexandre Teixeira, Mr. Leon Nguyen, and Mr. Joe McMahon.

The DA-BSWM is the nationally-mandated agency of the Philippines on the sustainable management of soil and water resources for agriculture.
