What is Wind Pump Irrigation System?
Wind Pump is a device that converts kinetic energy from the wind into mechanical energy to pump water through windmills, to obtain the following:
- Source of fresh water from wells; and
- For draining low lying areas of land
Wind pump is one of the three forms of alternative prime movers for small-scale irrigation project which is powered by a renewable energy source.
